ZAC GRIFFITH UTAH ARCHERY ELK HUNT: “Golden Brown: Season 2”
My name is Zac Griffith and this is a film of my Utah archery elk hunt. The Wasatch Mountains of Northern Utah have fascinated me since my childhood. I learned to ski and hunt on these towers that shade the Salt Lake Valley. Rising near 7,000 ft in less than a few miles, the front holds some of the most rugged and remote urban terrain anywhere on Earth.
I choose this range every December as host to an annual tradition; a late season, public land archery hunt for bull elk. Deep snow, sub-zero temps, extreme elevations and high winds combine in a recipe for disaster to a bowhunter. Despite the obstacles stacked against us, my closest bow hunting allies and I venture here yearly with high hopes.
Long hikes, chilly stalks and close calls to follow!
