My name is Zac Griffith and this is a film from a South Dakota mule deer archery hunt. This hunt marks a new tradition for me each fall; a trip to South Dakota to chase mule deer. As a “western hunter” I never would’ve imagined the mule deer quality in SD. The terrain, weather and animals are nothing like I would’ve expected.

I spent four days this October with a legendary bowhunter and friend, Jared Bloomgren. Learning from him, we both tried to tackle the difficult task of locating and harvesting a pre-rut mountain monarch mule deer with our bows. The weather was rough, the deer were scattered and Halloween provided an unexpected treat this year!
